Simpson concluded the tournament at 3-under overall. The redshirt junior was 1-over through two rounds and bounced back with a final-round 66 to climb 13 spots up the leaderboard to tie for third.
As a team, Tennessee shot 13-over, including a final-round 2-under 278 which was the second-lowest team score on day three.
Tennessee’s second-highest finisher, Evan Woosley-Reed, tied for 14th after shooting 2-over overall. The junior’s final-round 68 moved him 10 spots up the leaderboard, which secured his second consecutive top-15 finish.
Freshman Jackson Herrington finished just one shot behind Woosley-Reed. The Dickson, Tennessee, native shot three consecutive 71s en route to his second career top-20 finish in just his third collegiate start.
Laurent Desmarchais, who competed individually, notched a top-20 showing after shooting 4-over in total. The senior’s lowest round of the event came in round two when he registered a 2-under 68.
Bruce Murphy also competed individually and tied for 43rd. The Johns Creek, Georgia, native concluded the tournament with a final-round 71.
Freshman Kai Komulainen tied for 50th as Josh Hill finished tied for 70th.
UP NEXT: Tennessee will conclude its fall slate at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, which runs from Oct. 18-20.
