Tennessee Women's Golf in Fifth After Opening Round at Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational


CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Tennessee women’s golf team is in fifth place following one round at Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational.

The Lady Vols shot 10-over in the opening round and enter moving day eight shots back of the lead.

Manassanan Chotikabhukkana led UT on day one after firing an even-par 70 and enters the second round tied for sixth.

Freshman Kyra Van Kan provided the Big Orange with their second-lowest score of the day, shooting a 2-over 72. She enters moving day inside the top 20.

Bailey Davis and Martina Lopez-Lanchares gave the Lady Vols their final rounds of the day after shooting a pair of 74s.

The duo sits tied for 34th ahead of Saturday’s round.

Sophomore Sophie Bierstorfer shot a 76 to open the event and sits tied for 53rd.
