Tournament & Course History

This is the only the second year of the St. Andrews Links Collegiate. Although the courses being played are far from new. The Old Course is where the game of golf was first played over 600 years ago. The course has hosted The Open Championship a record 30 times since 1873 which is the most major championships by any course in the history of golf. Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods have both hoisted The Claret Jug twice and Woods has said that The Old Course is his favorite course in golf. The Jubilee Course built in 1897 and named after Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee was first intended for beginners and women. But, after a redesign to a championship course in 1988 it has now become known as one of the best tests in golf.
