Women's Golf on the Road for Bahamas Invite


University of Missouri women’s golf closes its fall season with play in the White Sands Collegiate Invitational hosted by Texas A&M on Friday, October 18.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

The 2024 White Sands Collegiate Invitational is a three-day tournament, playing 18 holes on each day of play for a total of 54 holes. Play will tee off each day with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

The field consists of teams from 10 different schools, including Mizzou. The Tigers will compete alongside no. 15 Texas A&M, no. 24 Baylor, no. 29 Kansas, no. 34 Purdue, no. 46 College of Charleston, Abilene Christian, Coastal Carolina, Georgia and Xavier.

The par-72 course at Ocean Club Golf Course measures 6,415 yards in length.

LAST TIME OUT

Mizzou continues its season following a second-place finish at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational in a field of 13 teams, including top-10 finishes from Melanie Walker, Jade Zamora and Addie Dobson.

Walker tied her career-best finish by placing second in the tournament at -3. Overall, it marked the fourth career top-10 for the junior and the third top-five finish of her career.

MORE CAREER BESTS

Junior Addie Dobson carded a career-low 54-hole score of 217 to finish in her first top-10 for the Tigers in Kansas. Jade Zamora tied her career-best 54-hole total, carding a 215 to finish in seventh for her second collegiate top-10.

TIGERS IN THE RANKINGS

The season’s first set of rankings were released on Wednesday and the Tigers have already shown they continue to improve as a program. Mizzou is currently slated as No. 63 in the nation after finishing the 2023-24 campaign at No. 79. Overall, the Tigers have cut their ranking nearly in half since the end of the 2021-22 season.

Ffion Tynan is MU’s top-ranked golfer as she currently sits No. 180 in the nation, followed by Fleur van Beek at No. 203.

UP NEXT

The Tigers will take a break and return next semester at the Westbrook Invitational on Feb. 23-24.
