Warford’s 71 Carries The Day For UW In Georgia


MARIETTA, Ga. – Carding a one-under 71, Drew Warford led the day for Washington during the second round of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate on Saturday.
 
The senior fired in four birdies along with 11 pars on the evening for his third round under par of the season. Warford sits at one-over for the weekend, tied for 33rd.
 
Finn Koelle continues to lead the Huskies on the leaderboard after posting a one-over second round. Even par for the tournament, Koelle is tied for 26th overall.
 
Freshman Jack Murphy improved his Friday score by a stroke in round two, setting a new career-best of 75 to enter Sunday’s round tied for 63rd at seven-over.
 
Rounding things out for the Dawgs, Abel Derksen shot a 76 to sit in a tie for 43rd, three-over for the weekend, while Jake Foley carded a seven-over 79.
 
The Huskies will tee off for Sunday’s final round at the Golf Club of Georgia beginning at 8:50 a.m. PT.
