NBC Sports Next and Troon look to the future

NBC Sports Next and Troon announced a multi-year renewal of the technology agreement they entered in 1999. The 25-year agreement has helped foster innovation in course management and driven golf participation.

The initial agreement grew into a multi-service partnership, and the new agreement looks to expand that even further.

NBC Sports Next will remain the preferred partner of Troon at its facilities around the world, which will afford access to point-of-sale technology, streamlined payment processing through GolfNow, booking engines and electronic tee sheets, revenue management and benchmarking technologies, golf reservation concierge services and golf vacation marketing and fulfillment for Troon’s golf destination and resort partners.

“Our partnership serves as a great example of what two, like-minded organizations can accomplish to help the business of golf,” said NBC Sports Next president Will McIntosh.

The partnership plans to integrate more of NBC Sports Next technology, services and innovation into Troon’s consumer efforts.

Troon intends to “reimagine” its suite of digital offerings and its Troon Card and Troon Rewards programs and GolfPass membership options. Plans are also in the works to collaborate on GolfPass-Troon Rewards sweepstakes.

“NBC Sports Next technology, distribution and cross collaboration drives tremendous value for our clients and courses, helping to deliver rounds of golf and provide the tools to capitalize and create demand for our facilities,” said Troon president and CEO Tim Schantz. “We’re excited about our renewed partnership and equally as enthusiastic about what’s to come with new innovation we have in the works.”
