WSU Closes Fall Season, Ties for Sixth in Clash at Boulder Creek


BOULDER CITY, Nev. (October 22, 2024) – Washington State Women’s Golf closed out the fall season tying for sixth in the Clash at Boulder Creek Tuesday afternoon.
 
A day after the Cougars matched the school-record for lowest team score in a round, senior Sarah Skovgaard Bils fired a two-under final round 70 to post her third Top-25 finish of the fall. Senior Madelyn Gamble tallied three birdies to card a final-round 72 and tie for 14th, her best finish of the fall. Freshman Grace Rubelsky also posted her best tournament of the fall, tying for 35th after shooting one-over for the tournament while sophomore Alcie Johansson tied for 31st.
 
Monday’s second-record team score of eight-under tied the program record set in the third round of the 2007 UNLV Spring Rebel Invite, at the same course in Boulder Creek.
 
Next up for the Cougars will be the spring season beginning with the Westbrook Invitational in Arizona Feb. 23-24.

The Course and Tournament Format

The Clash at Boulder Creek is held at the Desert Hawk Coyote Run course at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.

 

The course will play as a par-72 at 6,334 yards.

Teams will play 18 holes Sunday, 18 Monday and wrap up play Tuesday with 18 holes.

In addition to Washington State and host Northern Arizona, Boise State, CSU Bakersfield, Cal State Fullerton, Drake, Fresno State, Illinois State, Incarnate Word, Northern Colorado, San Francisco, South Dakota State, Southern Utah, Tarleton State, UTEP, UC Riverside and UTRGV make up the 17-team field.
