Clemson in 10th after 36 Holes at Steelwood Collegiate – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

CLEMSON, S.C. – Andrew Swanson (Bluffton, S.C./May River) turned in a first round 69 and a second round 70 to finish the day five-under-par to lead Clemson University men’s golf on Saturday at the Steelwood Collegiate. Swanson sits in seventh individually.

The Tigers are 10th as a team after 36 holes and are currently one-over-par heading into the final round on Sunday.

Clemson enjoyed a stellar first round and came in 7-under-par as a team, led by Swanson and Colin Salema (Matthews, N.C./Providence) who both carded identical scores of 69. Kian Rose (Gauteng, South Africa/St. John’s College) shot a 70 for a 2-under-par score. Rich Wills (Cramerton, N.C./Stuart Cramer) shot even par.

Sean Curran (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) is seven-over-par. Lucas Augustsson (Halmstad, Sweden/Aspero Idrottsgymnasie/ECU) is the Tigers’ individual at the tournament and shot five-over-par in the first round but responded with an eight-under-par round in the second 18.

Augstsson totaled an eagle, seven birdies and one bogey in the second round. He is in 14th at three-under-par.

Swanson totaled six birdies in the first round, while Salema added four, Rose had five and Wills collected four. Rose added the Tigers’ first eagle of the tournament on hole 10 (par 5).

Clemson couldn’t keep its first-round momentum going into the second 18, finishing eight-over-par to round out the day.

Swanson was the Tigers’ lone under-par contributor, finishing with a 70 and 2-under-par.
