Terrapins Finish Fourth at White Sands


PARADISE ISLAND, BAHAMAS — The Terrapins finished fourth out of 12 teams competing at the White Sands Collegiate event this weekend at The Ocean Golf Club at Paradise Island, Bahamas.

The Terps earned a score of 842 (276-282-284), which was -22 overall. 

Sophomore Yang Kuang led the way for Maryland, finishing 6th overall with a career-low score of 205 (68-69-68) and he was -11 overall. He made 13 birdies and two eagles in the 54-hole event. His 68 in the first and third rounds were also new career lows.

Four total Terrapins finished in the top 25 individually. Sophomore Emil Riegger tied for 13th with a score of 210 (65-71-74). His 65 in the first round was also a new career low. He made 10 birdies and an eagle. 

Senior Florian Huerlimann tied for 22nd with a score of 213 (71-71-71), which was -3. He racked up 12 birdies in the 54-hole event. Freshman Will Gregware tied for 25th with a score of 214 (72-71-71) with 12 total birdies.

Junior Armand Papaziani earned a score of 235 (81-80-74) with six birdies and an eagle.
