The Gators rallied down five shots late in the round to secure the victory at the Sea Best Intercollegiate.
Florida and Illinois State battled back-and-forth for the lead through the final 18-holes at San Jose Country Club. With 16 total holes left to score across the lineup, ISU held a five shot lead over UF before a 1-under push and a stretch of birdies from Inès Archer, Paula Francisco and Siuue Wu pushed the Gators ahead of the Redbirds for a three shot victory.
The win marks the third overall and consecutive win of the 2024-25 season. It also is back-to-back seasons UF has won three tournaments for the first time since 2015-16 & 2016-17 and the ninth occurrence in program history. The victory is also the 34th all-time under head coach Emily Glaser; 35th total as she was an assistant coach for a season in 2011-12.
Four Gators finished in the top-13 led by Ines Archer’s T4 outing at 3-under. She eventually grabbed the individual lead at 4-under with a birdie on nine (par-4, 393 yards), erasing a bogey on the seventh. Archer finished two shots behind Lousiane Gauthier and Mercedes Aldana (-7).
Freshman Ellaine Widjaja recorded her fourth top-25 in as many starts with a T7 performance. She finished 2-under for the week and team-high second tournament under par.
Both Paula Francisco and Addison Klonowski tied for 13th at 1-over. Francisco shot a 2-under 70 with six total birdies as she started her final round with three birdies in her first four holes.
Siuue Wu had her best round of the tournament with a bogey-free 1-under 71 and tied for 30th. Competing as an individual, Sophie Stevens tied for 39th.
UF has a quick turnaround and competes in the Therese Hession Regional Challenge (Feb. 2-4) in Palos Verdes. Calif.
