SAN FRANCISCO (January 28, 2025) – Madelyn Gamble and Alice Johansson of Washington State Women’s Golf were both named to the Preseason All-West Coast Conference Team, conference office announced Tuesday.
Gamble, a senior from Pleasant Hill, Calif., played in last year’s NCAA Regional after earning an at-large selection. Gamble finished last season with a 73.22 scoring average, the third-best average in program history while posting eight Top-25 finishes including a pair in the Top-10. Gamble had a pair of Top-20 finishes this past fall, tying for 18th in the season-opening Bettie Lou Evans Invitational in Kentucky and closed the fall tying for 14th at the Clash at Boulder Creek in Las Vegas.
Johansson, a sophomore from Bollnas, Sweden, finished right behind Gamble last season with a 74.03 scoring average to go along with three Top-25 finishes including a tie for second at the 2023 Molly. Johansson had one of the best fall seasons in the country, winning the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational in Kentucky and shared the title in the Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Colorado. Johansson put her name atop the Cougar record book with a school-record 65 in the second round of the Ptarmigan Ram Classic, also tying for the 54-hole school-record with a 205 in the three rounds in Colorado.
The Cougars open the spring season at the Westbrook Invitational in Arizona Feb. 23-24.
