Wildcats Light Up The Scorecards on Day One of The N.I.T.


The Wildcats go low on the first day of the N.I.T. in Tucson. Round one was completed while round two still has 2-3 holes to finish up in the morning tomorrow. The Cats combined for 26-under par and are in second place. A bunch of Wildcats are atop the leader board and in contention for the individual title. 

Johnny Walker currently sits in third place after a 4-under round one and he is currently 4-under with two to play in the second round. Jackson Norwich is competing as an individual and tied his 18 hole career low of 67. In round two, he is 2-under par and has four birdies in his round.

Filip Jakubcik is 7-under par for the tournament with a couple holes left to finish in the morning. He shot a 69 in round one and is in fifth place currently. Zach Pollo shot a 68 in round one and through 16 holes in round two he is 1-under par. He sits in 12th place headed into the final day.

Tianyi Xiong and Griffin Rhoads are both at 4-under par after round two was postponed until the morning. Xiong with two left to play in the second round has four birdies and two eagles. Griffin Rhoads had been great all day long with a 70 in the first round and is 2-under through 16 holes in round two. Matej Baca is 5-over par total after a round of 75 and currently 2-over par in round two.

The Wildcats sit in second place and are looking to fill up the scorecard with red numbers again on the final day. Final round tee times will begin with a shotgun start at 1 pm MST after the second round is completed in the morning.
