Chotikabhukkana Leads Lady Vols to Fourth Place Finish at Daniel Island Invitational


DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. – Tennessee women’s golfer Manassanan Chotikabhukkana posted a top-five finish at the Daniel Island Invitational to help guide the Lady Vols to a fourth place team showing. 

UT capped off the event with a 3-over 867 to record its fourth top-five finish of the season.

Chotikabhukkana was Tennessee’s highest finisher for the second time this season. The junior capped off the tournament with a 1-over 73 to finish in fourth, notching her first top-five finish of the year and second of her career. Chotikabhukkana’s best performances came on Monday when she fired a career-best 5-under 67 in round one and 3-under 69 in round two.

In just her second career start, Isabella Johnson tied for 23rd, earning her first career top-25 finish. The freshman’s best round of the tournament came in the third round where she shot an even-par 72 to record a new career low.

Kyra Van Kan also shot an even-par 72 in the final round to tie for 30th. Tuesday’s performance marked her second even-par round of the tournament, including her round-one showing. 

Bailey Davis shot a 78 in the final round to tie for 36th. The senior’s best performance came in round two where she registered an even-par 72.

Sofie Engeseth also capped off the tournament with a 78, finishing just one shot behind Davis to tie for 38th. The sophomore’s best rounds came on Monday where she shot a 1-over 73 in both opening rounds.

UP NEXT: The Lady Vols will take a three-week hiatus before heading to Austin, Texas, for the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational hosted by the University of Texas. The tournament will take place from March 17-18.
