Cats Jump Into First Place on Day Two of The MountainView Collegiate

Women’s golf makes major moves in round two as they jump nine spots into first place. The Wildcats shot the best round out of the entire field at 5-over par. Besides, second place, Kansas State who shot 7-over par the next best round was ten shots more than the Cats. Julia Misemer was the low individual on the team with a 1-under round.

Misemer had a very solid day that consisted of 3 birdies and two bogeys. She moved up 21 spots in round two and is now tied for fifth. Misemer has dominated the par fives playing them 4-under par which is tied for the best in the tournament. Carolina Melgrati stays steady with a round of 73 keeping her near the top at a tie for third. A key to Melgrati’s success is her 3.90 scoring average on par fours which is tied for the best.

Charlotte Back carded a 74 in her round as she bettered her first round total by two strokes. She is currently tied for 24th as she moved up 34 positions on the leaderboard. Also, tied for 24th is Maria Cabaillas who shot 4-over in her second round. Lilas Pithier shot 3-over par to bring her 36 hole score to 5-over and tied for 19th.

As a team, the Cats were dominant in round two. For the tournament, the Wildcats lead in scoring averages on both par fours and fives. After 36 holes, the Wildcats are playing the par fives 6-under par. Additionally, the Cats have been able to limit the bogeys and lead the field in pars made at 125.
