Yang, Fouillet In Top 20 After 36 Holes
LA QUINTA – Senior Jieming Yang continued one of the best stretches of her career over the first two rounds of the Yale Invitational on Monday, leading the California women’s golf team with a 2-under-par 142 that was good for 14th place individually.
Yang opened the tournament by carding her first 2-under round of the season. She later ended the day with an even-par 72 – her third consecutive par or better round dating back to last month’s Bruin Wave Invitational.
Sophomore Constance Fouillet joined Yang as the only Golden Bears to place in the top 20 after 36 holes. Fouillet shot a 72 in both rounds, giving her a team-leading eight par or better rounds this year.
Cal finished in ninth place as a team with a score of 10-over 586. Senior Kaylyn Noh (72+77 | 149) will start round three in 42nd place. Freshman Marie-Agnes Fischer (81+71 | 152) bounced back from a slow start to her day to post the Bears’ lowest round-two score of 1-under 71.
