The freshman concluded the event at 5-under overall, including a 2-under 69 in round one and second-round 67. Herrington’s 54-hole total marks a season and career low score in relation to par. Additionally, the Dickson, Tennessee, native now holds three top-25 showings this season.
The Vols wrapped up their fourth event of the spring in 12th place with a 54-hole total of 5-under.
Josh Hill was UT’s second-best finisher in the event, shooting 1-over in total and tying for 37th. The junior’s best 18-hole score came in the second round when he carded a 67.
Redshirt junior Lance Simpson, who currently holds a team-leading 20 rounds of par or better for the season, shot even-par overall to tie for 42nd and provided three counting rounds for the Big Orange.
Evan Woosley-Reed tied for 63rd after shooting 5-over. The Shelbyville, Tennessee, native bounced back nicely in the final round and fired a 1-under 70.
Tennessee’s final golfer, Laurent Desmarchais, tied for 88th at the Valspar Collegiate. His best round came on Tuesday when he registered a 72.
UP NEXT: After a three-week hiatus, UT will compete in its final regular season tournament, taking part in The Invitational at The Ford which runs from April 14-15.
