Wildcats Take Sixth at The Chevron Silverado Showdown


At the conclusion of the Chevron Silverado Showdown, the Wildcats finished in sixth place at 14-over par. Their round of even par in the final round was their best of the tournament. Nena Wongthanavimok had the lowest round of all Wildcats across the three days with a final round 68. 

Wongthanavimok had three brides and a hole out on the par four 14th en route to a tie for 19th. Her only bogey came on the second to last hole of the round. Also, under par was Carolina Melgrati at 2-under par and tied for 21st. She had five birdies after starting her round with a double bogey on her second hole of the day. Lilas Pinthier also finished tied for 21st after starting the day at even par. She shot a 75 to finish at 3-over par for the tournament. 

Maria Cabanillas, competing individually, finished tied for 31 at 6-over par. She had the third best par five scoring average amongst the field playing them 6-under par over three rounds. Charlotte Back carded a 75 to finish the tournament at 8-over par and tied for 39th. Julia Misemer ended the tournament tied for 53rd as she shot a 78 in the final round. 

Up next the Wildcats will be playing in the Big12 Championship for the first time in Hockley, Texas. It begins on April 14th and concludes April 17th.
