Filip Jakubcik Wins The Western Intercollegiate in Back to Back Years

Filip Jakubcik becomes the fourth player in the 78 years of the Western Intercollegiate to win back to back years with a dominating performance winning by six shots. Jakubcik led the tournament from beginning to end and he shot a 66 in the final round to secure his second career win. An impressive win as he led the field in three statistical categories including par three and par four scoring average and total birdies made. He entered the round with only a one shot lead but was able to shoot the lowest round on course to extend his lead and win with six shots to give.

The team overall wasn’t able to replicate their previous two rounds and finished tied for eighth place. Zach Pollo was inside the top ten at the beginning of the round but couldn’t keep the momentum going and finished with a 76. Pollo and Jakubcik were the only two Wildcats inside the top 25 with the next best finishing being Johnny Walker in tie for 49th.
