After leading University of Missouri men’s golf throughout the 2024-25 season, Trent Mierl was honored with SEC All-Freshman Team accolades.
In addition, Bubba Chapman was named to the league’s Community Service Team, announced by the conference on Friday.
Mierl is just the second Tiger since Mizzou joined the SEC in 2012 to collect All-Freshman Team accolades. Euan Walker also earned the honor 11 years ago during the 2013-14 campaign.
The first Mizzou freshman to lead the team in stroke average during the team’s SEC era, Mierl posted a 72.39 average as a rookie. He was twice named SEC Freshman of the Week, doing so after placing third in his collegiate debut at the Golfweek Put Me In Coach Invitational and again after a seventh-place finish at The Hootie at Bulls Bay where he set a season best with a nine-under 207.
Overall, Mierl collected three top-10 finishes during his rookie season with 12 rounds under par.
Chapman led the team’s community service efforts during the 2024-25 season, most notably spending a week during his winter break volunteering at a local middle school, putting on golf clinics during physical education classes.
