Five ACC Teams Advance to 2025 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Headlined by Florida State’s regional title, five Atlantic Coast Conference teams have punched their tickets to the 2025 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships, set for May 23-28 at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California.

Joining the Seminoles in the Golden State will be California, Georgia Tech, Virginia and Wake Forest, as each team finished in the top five of their respective regional. The ACC will also send a pair of individuals, as Notre Dame’s Jacob Modelski was the top player on a non-advancing team at the Tallahassee Regional with a fourth-place finish and Duke’s Bryan Kim, whose third-place finish at the Reno Regional secured his spot in Carlsbad.

Hosting the Tallahassee Regional at Seminole Legacy Golf Club, Florida State finished the three-round tournament at 29-under (835), nine shots ahead of second-place Ole Miss. It marked FSU’s second regional championship in program history. Leading the Seminoles was Luke Clanton, who took home medalist honors, carding a course-record 15-under 201, taking home his second career regional title.

At the Reno Regional, which featured high winds and snow during the week, Virginia finished second at 11-under (853), while California claimed the final qualifying spot in fifth at 9-over (873). Leading the Cavaliers was Paul Chang, who won the individual title at 10-under (206), finishing three shots clear of the field.

Wake Forest earned a fourth-place finish at the Amherst Regional, carding a 1-under 839. Marshall Meisel paced the Demon Deacons with a tie for sixth place with a 3-under 207. At the Auburn Regional, defending NCAA individual champion Hiroshi Tai tied for seventh at 3-under (213), helping Georgia Tech secure the fifth and final qualifying spot.

With the championship field set, all 30 teams and six individuals will complete 54 holes of stroke play. Following 54 holes of competition, the top 15 teams along with the top nine individuals not on an advancing team will advance for one additional day of stroke play to determine the top eight teams for match-play competition and the 72-hole stroke-play individual champion. The top eight teams after 72 holes of play will be placed into a bracket thereafter.

In team match-play competition, a total of five points will be available with one point being awarded for each…
