Marie Eline Madsen Tabbed Unanimous All-American

RALEIGH – Marie Eline Madsen of the NC State women’s golf team has been selected as a Golfweek’s 2025 Women’s College Golf Third Team All-American, as announced by the publication Wednesday. Madsen is now the first unanimous All-American in school history after previously receiving All-America Second Team honors by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association last week.

Madsen is coming off an incredible freshman season, being tabbed on the All-ACC Team. She broke the single-season scoring average at NC State with a 71.23 average, as well as a team’s best 22 rounds at par or better and 11 rounds in the 60s. The Denmark native logged eight top 10 finishes and a top 20 showing in all but one of her 12 tournament appearances.

Madsen competed at the NCAA Championship in Carlsbad, California as an individual following her individual medalist honors at the NCAA Charlottesville Regional. She was the first player in NC State history to win an NCAA Regional. Madsen also won the 2025 ECU Ironwood Invitational, now holding the third most career wins in school history.

Since 1999, Golfweek has selected All-Americans in addition to Players and Coaches of the Year in men’s and women’s college golf. The tradition of honoring the best in college golf continues this year.
