PULLMAN, Wash. (July 9, 2025) – Former Washington State Women’s Golf standout Darcy Habgood is returning to the program as an assistant coach, head coach Kevin Tucker announced Wednesday.
In five seasons (2018-23) at WSU, Habgood recorded three Top-5 finishes, was ninth at the 2022 Pac-12 Conference Championships and closed her career qualifying for the 2023 NCAA Regional. The Nambucca Heads, Australia native led the Cougars in scoring average her final two seasons and posted the fourth-best scoring average in program history at 74.51.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Darcy back to Washington State,” Tucker said. “As a former student-athlete who excelled at WSU, she brings a wealth of experience, deep program knowledge, and a passion for mentoring young players. She’s a tremendous addition to our coaching staff.”
Following her collegiate career, Habgood reached stage two of LPGA Q-School and played on the Epson Tour before returning to work at the Nambucca Heads Island Golf Club in Australia.
“I’m beyond excited to return to Washington State, this time in a coaching role,” Habgood said. “Being on this team as a student-athlete shaped a lot of who I am today. I’m so excited to give back to a program that gave me so much. I look forward to supporting our girls not only as athletes, but as young adults, and helping them grow both on and off the golf course. I’m looking forward to my first season as a coach! Go Cougs!”
Habgood was a three-time WGCA All-America Scholar, a four-time Pac-12 All-Academic selection and graduated with a degree in public relations and marketing along with a minor in sports management.
