Simpson, who is currently the No. 24 amateur in the world, opened the event with a bogey-free 7-under 64 to gain the 18-hole lead and kept his foot on the gas throughout the final 54 holes with a pair of 67s in rounds two and three along with a final round 69, respectively.
Throughout 72 holes of play, the Knoxville native made 53 pars, 18 birdies and just one bogey for quad of strong scorecards. Additionally, the 2025 All-America Honorable Mention selection played the par-5s at 5-under, par-4s at 9-under and par-3s at 3-under throughout the week.
With the win, Simpson etches his name in Trans-Miss Amateur history, as he joins notable past champions such as Cameron Champ (2017), Will Zalatoris (2014,2016), Bryson Dechambeau (2013), Ben Crenshaw (1972) and 18-time major champion Jack Nicklaus (1958-59).
