Men's Golf Opens the Fall Season at Minnesota


LOUISVILLE, Ky.. – The University of Louisville men’s golf program opens the 2025-26 season at the 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minn. The event kicks off Sunday, September 7 with the first two rounds and continues on Monday, September 8. The first round will start at 7:15 a.m. with the second round commencing immediately after. 

Head Coach Ryan Blagg begins his sixth season with the Cardinals after leading the program to five-straight NCAA Regional appearances.

The Cardinals will be without Sebastian Moss, who finished in the top 10 of career stroke average and tournament wins. Replacing Moss will be the two top returning players in Cooper Claycomb and Brady Smith, who were two of the four players in stroke average last season.

The Field:

Fifteen teams will compete over the next two days. Including the Cardinals, Minnesota, Nebraska, Rutgers, Wisconsin, Furman, Iowa State, Little Rock, Marquette, Miami (OH), Northern Illinois, South Carolina, St. Thomas, Texas A&M, and West Virginia. 

Cardinals’ Lineup:

The Cardinals have a lineup of sophomores Brady Smith and Warren Thomas, senior Andrew Tan, and juniors Patrick Keeling and Cooper Claycomb

The Course:

The 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational will take place at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence. The course opened in 2003 with a par 71 that spans 7,464 yards throughout.
