Liu Leads Bears After Season-Opening Round

Senior Adora Liu is in a tie for 15th place after carding a 2-over 74 on Monday.


Cal Sits In 11th Place After First Day Of ANNIKA Intercollegiate

LAKE ELMO, Minn. – Senior Adora Liu shot a 2-over par 74 and sits in a tie for 15th place after the first round of the season-opening ANNIKA Intercollegiate at Royal Golf Club.

Liu, the program’s record-holder for single-season scoring average, registered three birdies on the back nine and sits seven strokes off the lead.

Junior Constance Fouillet is one stroke behind her teammate at 3-over par and in a tie for 22nd overall.

The Golden Bears, who are competing at this tournament to open the season for the second year in a row, are in 11th place as a team.

Junior transfer Jasmine Kahler and freshmen Michelle Woo and Camila Zignaigo-Saldarriaga each made their Cal debuts on Monday.

Reigning NCAA champion Northwestern leads the tournament at 1-under – the only team that broke par in the first round.

Cal tees off for the second round Tuesday beginning at 6:35 a.m PT.
