Cards In Position for Repeat at the Bearcat Invitational


LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men’s golf team its in second place after 36 holes of the Bearcat Invitational in Coldstream, Ohio on Monday. Louisville shot 6-under-par as a team to trail host Cincinnati by eight strokes. The Cards are looking to win the tournament for the second-straight season.

As a team, the Cardinals carded two rounds of 281 to put themselves in position for a run on Tuesday morning.

Cooper Claycomb put in the top round of the day for the Cardinals as he shot a 4-under-par 138 over the first two rounds. He shot 69-69 to enter the final day just two shots off the lead of Furman’s Harris Barth. Claycomb recorded seven birdies over his 36 holes to enter Tuesday in a tie for 3rd place.

Warren Thomis continues his strong start to the fall by shooting a 2-under-par 140 to end his two rounds in 13th place. He opened the day with a 68 and came back in the afternoon with a 72.

Andrew Tanis also tied with his teammate for 13th after he posted his first round of collegiate golf with a score under par. After shooting a 72 in the morning, Tan followed back with a 68.

Brady Smith is tied for 33rd at 2-over-par and Easton Johnson is tied for 56th at 5-over-par.
