Men's Golf To Play Match Play Vs. Northwestern After Finishing Third In Stroke Play Event


LAKE BLUFF, ILL. — Arizona finishes the stroke play portion of the Jackson T. Stephens Cup in 3rd place just one shot shy of second place. With a 10-under par total for the Cats, they will face Northwestern in the match play event tomorrow for third place. 

William Wistrand was the low Wildcats after 54 holes with a 3-under par total. He finished tied for 7th after a 68 (-2) in the final round. Filip Jakubcik had the lowest round of the day with a 67 (-3) to finish tied for 11th at 2-under.

Zach Pollo and Dillon Dean both card even-par rounds today. Pollo finished inside the top 15 and ended the stroke play event at 1-under par. Dean ended up just outside the top 15 and in a tie for 16th. Connor Hamm shot a 72 to finish 1-over par and tied for 21st. 

The Wildcats missed out in playing in the championship round by one stroke. They showed great fight as they almost pulled off a great finish to get into the top two. The Cats will be live on Golf Channel from 1-4pm.
