The No. 4 Florida men’s golf team continues the fall schedule at an always competitive field at the Fighting Illinii Collegiate at Olympia Fields Country Club this weekend.

Alabama (No. 18), Arizona State (No. 6), Baylor, Florida (No. 4), Florida State (No. 9), Georgia Tech (No. T13), Illinois (No. 11), Indiana, LMU, Oklahoma State (No. 1), Purdue, Stanford, Texas (No. 3), Texas A&M (No. 20) and Texas Tech (No. T15). 

STACKED FIELD

  • 11 of 15 teams in the field are ranked or receiving votes in the preseason Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll released by the GCAA on Aug. 29.
  • Programs in the 2025 tournament field have combined for 19 of 32 spots in the NCAA Championship match play finals, and nine out of the 16 team titles, since the current format began in 2009
  • 12 of 15 teams in the field competed in the 2025 NCAA Regionals
  • 10 of the 15 teams in the field advanced to the 2025 NCAA Championship stroke play
  • The field includes four of the final eight teams that made up match play at the 2025 NCAA Championship: quarterfinalists Arizona State and Texas, semifinalist Florida, and champion Oklahoma State

TOURNAMENT HISTORY
The Gators have competed in the ten times with the most recent last season. In 2022, Florida finished T2 behind a runner-up finish from current PGA Tour member Ricky Castillo. Florida won the tournament in the fall of 2010.

PRESEASON PUB

Tagged one of the deepest teams in the country, Florida earned a slew of preseason recognition. 

UF was selected No. 4 by the GCAA Coach’s Poll and Golf Channel while tabbed No. 5 by Golfweek. Additionally, three Gators collected Preseason All-America honors via Luke Poulter (Golf Channel and Golfweek Second Team), Jack Turner (Golf Channel and Golfweek Third Team) and Zack Swanwick (Golf Channel Third Team).

Poulter also was named to The Haskins Award Preseason Watch List entering the 2025-26 season.
