MACTIER, Ont. — For the second consecutive year, the University of Notre Dame men’s golf team dominated the field competing at the annual Canadian Collegiate Invitational as the team recorded a minus-35 score and stroke count of 829 through three rounds of competition to win the 2025 edition. The 829(-35) score ranks third-best in program history and is the lowest total for the men’s team since they finished sub-39 at the Stitch Intercollegiate in 2020-21.
Calen Sanderson once again led the Irish, finishing atop the program’s leaderboard for the second week in a row and earning the individual championship with a score of 197(-19). The senior opened the tournament with a score of 68(-4) on Sunday before posting a second round score of 65(-7), tying the program record for low round by score. He then broke the program record for individual round low when he shot a 64(-8) on the final day of competition for an overall score of 19-under par, or 197. With his 197 mark, he becomes the first in program history to record a three-round stroke count breaking 200. The individual championship is his first since March 17, 2024 where he won at the Indy at Gibson Bay.
Jacob Modleski also finished among the top-five Tuesday afternoon as he placed fifth overall with a 208(-8) score. The junior finished the three-day tournament with an even par score of 72 in round three after posting scores of 69(-3) and 67(-5) in the first and second rounds, respectively.
Pavel Tsar finished third for the Irish and 13th overall following a second-straight day posting a 69(-3) round score. The freshman opened the tournament with a 75(+3) stroke count before registering a pair of minus-three scores in the latter competition to finish the tournament with a score of 213(-3).
Nate Stevens also finished within the top-20, taking fourth for the Irish and 18th overall with an even-par score of 216 through three rounds played. He opened the Canadian Collegiate Invitational with a season-low 67(-5) before registering two rounds at 76(+4) and 73(+1) for the even-par final Tuesday afternoon.
Rocco Salvitti rounded out the Irish group in the team competition, finishing at 221(+5) through three rounds. The junior recorded a score of 72(E) on Sunday to kick things off before posting a 74(+2) stroke count in round two. The final round saw him register a plus-three with a tally of 75 to take 38th individually.
