The 270 is the lowest team score since the Maui Jim during the 2022-23 campaign.
After opening the day with a 7-over-par 287, the Cardinals fired back with 22 birdies on the second 18 holes of the day to climb into third place at 3-under-par heading into Tuesday’s final round. North Carolina is eight shots ahead of Louisville at 11-under-par and UCLA is second at 8-under-par.
Brady Smith jumped into a tie for second place with a score 5-under-par (135) after carding rounds of 67-68=135 tto sit just four shots off the lead of North Carolina’s Carson Bertagnole, who is at 9-under-par.
Cooper Claycomb is tied for eighth after his 36 holes on Monday. The junior opened with a 73 but responded with a personal best 64 to end the day at 3-under-par.
Andrew Tan is tied for 28th after shooting 142. He opened with a first round of 73 and followed that up with a round of 69 to stand at 2-over-par. Easton Johnson is tied for 34th with a 143 and Warren Thomis is tied for 52nd at 6-over-par.
The Cardinals will look to attempt to catch the leaders when play resumes on Tuesday morning.
