DANIEL ISLAND, S.C.– After a strong start to the 2025-26 season, the No. 21 Wake Forest men’s golf team aims to continue momentum as they travel to Daniel Island, S.C. for The Bryson Invitational, set to begin Monday.
In their most recent appearance at the Hamptons Intercollegiate, the Demon Deacons delivered back-to-back low rounds over the 11 team field, overtaking No. 4 Ole Miss to secure a second-place finish. The nationally ranked Deacs recorded a three-round total of 860 (-2), finishing ahead of No. 22 Florida State and perennial powerhouse Stanford.
Before finishing second at the Hamptons Intercollegiate, the Deacs captured consecutive team titles for the first time since 2017, earning victories at the Highlands Invitational and the Bryan National Collegiate.
Fifteen teams across nine different conferences are set to compete at Daniel Island’s elite Ralston Creek Course in Charleston, S.C.
The Bryson Invitational is three days, teeing off on Monday, October 13th and concluding Wednesday October 17th. Teams will play the first 18 holes on Monday, October 13, with tee times starting at 8:00 a.m. The Deacs will be in the first group off the first tee with players from Vanderbilt and Duke.

Senior Jakob Melin ended the Hamptons Intercollegiate inside of the top 20 after having a pair of top-10 finishes to start the season.
Junior Tom Haberer had a second place finish at the Hamptons Intercollegiate. This is the second-consecutive runner-up finish for the Hildesheim, Germany native this season and third top-5 finish in three starts
Highlands Invitational Sophomore Jorge Hao captured his first collegiate title, tying the fourth-lowest 54-hole score to par (since spring 1976) with a final score of 199 (-17). Hao’s first victory was highlighted by three under-par rounds, including two consecutive rounds of 65 (-7). Leading by five strokes, Hao tallied an impressive 19 birdies and four bogeys over three rounds.
Junior Nicholas Prieto secured his second top-10 finish of the season at the Hamptons Intercollegiate, tying for sixth on the individual leaderboard. At the Bryan National Collegiate,Prieto claimed his first collegiate title as a Demon Deacon with a score of 203 (-13), tying for eighth lowest 54-hole score to par in program history.
