SAUCIER, Miss. — The Wisconsin men’s golf team is in 13th at +7 after Round 1 of the Fallen Oak Invitational Saturday at the Fallen Oak Golf Course in Saucier, Mississippi.
Sophomore William Harned and senior Spencer Turtz lead at +1 respectively. Harned fired a 73 (+1) Sunday, matching that with his 72 (E) the day prior. Turtz leads the field in pars following his -1 first-round.
Senior Jacob Beckman shot 13 spots up the leaderboard Sunday thanks to an even-par day. He bounced back from an early back-nine double-bogey by notching two birdies on the following six holes.
Junior Charles Erlandson rounded out the UW scoring, improving from Day 1 with a +2, 74. The Verona native notched two birdies on his opening four holes.
True freshman Vijay Kumar sits in 80th, while James Boustead (competing individually) is in 64th at +5.
