This Week in Wake Forest Women’s Athletics – Presented by Truist (Sept. 15-21)

  • Field Hockey: 

    • The No. 6 Wake Forest field hockey team closes out the regular season on Friday, Nov. 1 at No. 4 Virginia. 
    • Having already clinched a share of the ACC Regular Season Title with their win at No. 8 Duke, the Demon Deacons are in search of their first outright title since the 2005 season. 
    • The team’s current winning streak has reached 15-straight following the win at Duke on Friday before a 3-0 victory against App State this past Sunday. 

  • Women’s Soccer: 

    • The Wake Forest women’s soccer team remained unbeaten at home after a 2-1 victory over Pitt Thursday night at Spry Stadium.

      • The Demon Deacons reached double-digit wins for the third-consecutive season.

    • Following their victory over the Panthers, the Demon Deacons returned to Spry that Sunday and handed the No.1-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish their first dropped ACC points of the season on Sunday.

      • Wake Forest finished the regular season with an 8-0-3 record at Spry this season.

        • The Deacs have posted a stellar 26-3-9 record at home since the start of 2022, with their lone loss over the past three seasons coming against No. 1 Duke in 2024.

    • This tied the second-longest unbeaten home stretch in program history, set across the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
    • The Deacs are set for its regular season finale on the road against No. 11 Florida State this Thursday, Oct. 30 at Seminole Sports Complex. 

  • Volleyball: 

    • Wake Forest returns to Varsity Arena to begin two-straight weeks of home action.

      • The team will first face Cal on Friday for a 6:30 p.m. matchup. The contest will feature a Halloween theme, with post-match Trick or Treat and in-game costume contest for young fans.
      • On Sunday, the Deacs are set to face No. 5 Stanford. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.

    • Against ACC competition, a trio of Demon Deacons rank among the top-10 individual leaderboards:

  • Cross Country: 

    • The Demon Deacons are set to compete in the ACC Cross Country Championships this upcoming Friday, Oct. 31, at the E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky.
