Arizona Opens The 2026 Spring Season at The Copper Cup

Arizona Men’s Golf will open its 2026 spring season at The Copper Cup, presented by the Goldberg Family Foundation, returning to action against familiar rivals Arizona State, USC, and UCLA. The four-team Ryder Cup-style event will take place January 19-20 at El Niguel Country Club in Laguna Niguel, California, and marks the Wildcats’ fourth appearance in the annual competition since its inception in 2021.

The Copper Cup features a match-play format that combines alternate-shot foursomes and singles matches across two days of scoring. Each team will field eight players per session, with matches determining advancement to either the Copper Cup Championship or consolation match on the final day.

Arizona will begin play during Monday’s Rivalry Sessions, opening with morning foursomes followed by afternoon singles matches. The Wildcats will face Arizona State in the opening rivalry matchup, with UCLA and USC competing on the opposite side of the bracket. The winning teams on Day 1 will advance to Tuesday’s Copper Cup Championship sessions, while the remaining teams will compete in the Consolation matches.
