Defending Champion Seminoles Play At Moon Golf Invitational

MELBOURNE, Fla. – No. 26 Florida State enters this week’s Moon Invitational at the Suntree Country Club fresh from its team victory at the season-opening Collegiate Invitational at the Guadalajara Country Club. The Seminoles were one of only three teams to record an under par team score (third round, 284) in winning a team championship for the eighth time in their last 13 tournaments.

The Seminoles have won the Collegiate Invitational at the Guadalajara Country Club three consecutive seasons (2024, 2025, 2026).

Head coach Amy Bond and the Seminoles enter the 2026 Moon Invitational as the defending tournament champions and look to become the first repeat champion and the first three-time champion in the nine-year history of the event. The Seminoles have won the team championship in both 2022 and 2025.

“We love playing in this event,” said Bond, the all-time winningest coach in school history with 26 tournament championships. “This is such a great event. The Moon family does such a great job in hosting one of the best events of the college calendar. The club staff is wonderful, the course is always in great condition, and we have many Seminoles in the area who help make us feel at home. This is one of my favorite events of the year.”

The Seminoles face a great challenge to repeat as the tournament champion as the event organizers have assembled one of the toughest fields of the year. The field includes 12 of the top 26 teams in the nation including No. 5 Texas A&M, No. 6 Florida, No. 7 Wake Forest, No. 8 Auburn, and No. 9 Texas, No. 13 Duke, No. 14 Ole Miss, No. 15 UCF, No. 16 Mississippi State, No. 19 South Carolina, No. 24 Tennessee, and the No. 26 Seminoles. Also included in the field are LSU, Virginia, Alabama, NC State, and the host school Louisville.

The 17-team field begins play in the three-round 54-hole championship on Sunday (February 15) with action on the course over three consecutive days. Tee times begin at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday and Monday and, and 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The results can be found at Scoreboard by Clipp’d.

Florida State’s lineup consists of the same five players who helped win the team championship at the Collegiate Invitational: sophomores Sophia Fullbrook, Elin Pudas Remler, Alexandra Gazzoli, and Layla Pedrique, along with freshman Haruhi Nakatani. Sophomore Freya Russell will play in the event as an individual.
