Bears Sit In Middle Of Pack In Palm Desert



Liu Tied For 7th Individually After First Round

PALM DESERT – Senior Adora Liu shot a 1-under par 70 and the California women’s golf team sits in 10th place out of 16 teams after the first round of the Alice & John Wallace Classic at Monterey Country Club.

Liu began the round on No. 6 and proceeded to par each of her first 14 holes before registering birdies on two of the final four. She is in a three-way tie for seventh place individually heading into Sunday’s second round, six strokes off the lead.

Junior Jasmine Kahler was Cal’s next-best finisher after the first round, shooting a 5-over par 76. Junior Constance Fouillet and freshman Michelle Woo each carded a 77.

The Bears will tee off Sunday at 8 a.m. PT.
