All 17 teams competing this weekend are ranked within the top 75 in the most recent rankings on February 11. The tournament field has 12 teams that are ranked in the Top 25 and five teams ranked in the top 10.
Louisville is coming off a fall season where they competed in five tournaments. Their best team finish came at the Pirate Collegiate Classic, where the Cardinals finished third out of 15 total teams. Louisville finished sixth or better in three of the six fall tournaments.
The Cardinals lineup for the Moon Golf Invitational consists of Emree Cameron, Millie Cottrell, Thienna Huynh, Veronika Exposito and Bailey Burkett. Burkett, Exposito and Cottrell competed in all five fall tournaments while Huynh was in three and Cameron was in two.
Exposito led the Cards in the fall with six rounds at par or better and two rounds in the 60’s. Burkett was right behind her with five rounds at par or better. Exposito had a team-best three Top 20 finishes while Burkett was second with two. Huynh had the best individual finish of all Cardinal golfers in the fall when she finished tied for eighth at the Sam Golden Invitational.
The first round of action gets underway on Sunday morning with tee times for all players from either Hole No. 1 or Hole No. 10. Burkett is the first Cardinal to tee off at 8 a.m. ET and the final Louisville tee time will be Cameron at 8:40 a.m. ET.
