Den Dunnen Ties Career-Low, Deacs in Third Before Final Day at Moon Golf


MELBOURNE, Fla.Following day two of competition at the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Fla., the no.7-ranked Wake Forest women’s golf team sits third headed into the final round, with two Demon Deacons among the top five on the individual boards. 

Tying her career-low round set at last year’s competition, senior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen shot five-under (67), tallying six birdies and 11 pars to move up 37 total spots into third place. With seven so far, den Dunnen has totaled the second-most birdies of the competition with one round yet to go. 

Also within the top five, junior Macy Pate carded an even time out before the turn to sit at one-under following two rounds of play. 

Graduate student Casey Weidenfeld improved from day one at one-over to move up six spots from the previous. Sophomore Chloe Kovelesky went three-over during the day and sits T57, while graduate student Morgan Ketchum finished at eight-over and T62. 

Final Round Due Up

The final round of three will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m. ET. Wake Forest will be paired with No. 6 Texas A&M and No. 8 Auburn, with live scoring available via Scoreboard.
