Arizona Men’s Golf wrapped up play at the Desimone Invitational with a strong final round, finishing the tournament at 17-under par as a team and in sixth place at Lake Merced Golf Club.
Leading the way for the Wildcats was Zach Pollo, who fired a 4-under round in the final round to finish 8-under overall and tied for seventh. Pollo’s steady play throughout the day helped Arizona climb the leaderboard and secure a top-10 individual finish.
Taishi Moto finished the tournament 5-under overall and tied for 13th. After sitting near the top of the leaderboard through the opening rounds, Moto closed the event with a final-round 76 to still record another strong top-15 performance.
Tianyi Xiong delivered one of the Wildcats’ best rounds of the day, carding a 3-under final round to move up the standings and finish 2-over overall. William Wistrand finished the tournament 4-over par overall, while Matej Baca closed with a 1-under par round to end the event 8-over par for the week.
Competing as an individual, Connor Hamm finished 3-under overall, turning in a 1-over par final round to complete the tournament tied for 20th.
Next on the schedule, the Cats will be competing at home at Tucson Country Club for the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate on March 16th-17th.
