CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Duke rallied to place second at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate, carding an 828 (-12) over three rounds at the 7,020-yard, par-70 UNC Finley Golf Club, marking the program’s sixth top-five finish in nine regular-season events. The Blue Devils have now produced four runner-up results and one tournament victory during the 2025-26 campaign.
Duke finished with two players in the top 10 and four in the top 20, led by junior Bryan Kim‘s third-place showing at 8-under 202 (69-66-67). Three seniors rounded out Duke’s top finishers as Ethan Evans tied for 10th at 207 (-3), William Love tied for 17th at 209 (-1) and Daniel Choi tied for 20th at even-par 210.
The Blue Devils closed within striking distance late Sunday, using a strong finish to secure the runner-up position behind host North Carolina.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Duke opened with a 277 (-3) in Saturday’s first round, positioning itself in contention.
- The Blue Devils surged in Saturday’s second round with a 273 (-7), their lowest round of the tournament, to move into third place.
- Duke carded a 278 (-2) on Sunday to finish at 828 (-12) and secure the runner-up position.
- In the final stretch, Bryan Kim, Ethan Evans and William Love combined for six birdies on holes 15-17 to seal second place.
