NORMAN, Okla. – Marie Eline Madsen of the NC State women’s golf team has been selected to play at the 2026 Arnold Palmer Cup to represent Team International. Madsen is the first NC State women’s golfer in school history to be selected for the Palmer Cup, as well as the fifth overall among men’s and women’s teams.
The Arnold Palmer Cup is set for Friday, July 3 to Sunday, July 5 at Tralee Golf Links in West Barrow, Ireland. The prestigious annual Ryder Cup-style tournament features the top men’s and women’s collegiate golfers in competition with the United States vs. international.
Madsen will make her first appearance at the Arnold Palmer Cup. She is ranked No. 22 in the Scoreboard by Clippd Ranking and is a career best No. 19 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Madsen leads the Wolfpack with a 70.93 scoring average with 22 rounds at par or better and 10 rounds in the 60s. She has placed in the top 10 in seven of her 10 tournament showings this season. Last season, she was also tabbed a WGCA Second Team All-American and also picked up Golfweek All-America Third Team honors.
The Denmark native has logged a 71.09 scoring average across her career with 15 top 10 showings and 20 top 20 finishes. She has a school record five career wins with three of those coming in her sophomore season at the Cougar Classic, Daniel Island Invitational and City of Oaks Collegiate. She is coming off a tie for sixth at the ACC Championship with a 6-under 210 (67-74-69). Madsen was named ACC Co-Golfer of the Month in March, becoming the third golfer in program history to be awarded with the monthly honor.
The NC State women’s golf team will play at the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional from May 11 to 13 at the UNC Finley Golf Club.
