The Qi4D is, quite frankly, an outstanding driver. By blending optimised aerodynamics for impressive clubhead speed with excellent levels of stability, TaylorMade has created a genuinely winning combination. At address, the club presents a near-perfect balance between the brand’s classic pear shape and a more forgiveness-focused, high-MOI profile. There really isn’t much to dislike.
Pros
- Tangible clubhead speed gains
- Exceptional feel
- Stunningly good address profile
Cons
- Some may not deem this a visual upgrade
Somehow, Ping has done it again with the G440 K. It has taken arguably the most forgiving and stable driver on the market and made meaningful refinements. The addition of the adjustable back weight provides an element of customization that serious golfers will appreciate, and the acoustics are a touch friendlier than the original. The G440 K is an exceptional performer for those who prioritize forgiveness above all else but are not prepared to sacrifice speed to get it.
Pros
- Equally if not more forgiving than the G430 Max 10K
- Now with flight bias adjustability
- Marginally improved feel
- Brilliant if you are a heel striker
Cons
- The blue colorway doesn’t quite do it for me
Without giving too much away, these drivers are both exceptional but they have a different focus – one prioritizes speed, the other is all about stability. Which one is best for you? Read on and hopefully your decision will be made easier.
