Harris Named First Team All-SEC – University of South Carolina Athletics

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference released its annual men’s golf awards on Thursday, which are voted on by the league’s 16 head coaches. Redshirt senior All-American Frankie Harris was one of 10 players named First Team All-SEC.

He’s the first Gamecock golfer since former All-American Ryan Hall in 2021 to be tabbed a First Team All-SEC selection. It’s the 23rd time in program history since entering the league in 1991-92 the Gamecocks are represented on the First Team. Harris, currently ranked No. 15 in the Clippd Player Rankings, is one of eight players selected First Team All-SEC to rank in the current top-20.

Harris has enjoyed a standout campaign with three wins and eight top-20 finishes in 10 stroke play starts this season. His scoring average of 69.57 is the lowest single-season score average in program history. Harris and Hall (69.97 in 2020-21) are the only players in Gamecock history with a sub-70, single-season scoring clip.

The Boca Raton, Fla. native became the program’s all-time wins leader with his outright victory at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate back on March 24. It was his sixth career win in three seasons at South Carolina, surpassing three-time All-American Kyle Thompson (won five times from 1997-2001).

Harris was recently named one of 15 players to the Fred Haskins Award Postseason Watch List. He’s also currently slotted No. 8 in the latest PGA TOUR University rankings. Players finishing Nos. 6-10 earn conditional status on Korn Ferry Tour for the remainder of the current season and exempt status for the current season North America Swing of PGA TOUR Americas. They are also exempt into Second Stage of PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry. If Harris is able to crack the top-five, he’ll be fully exempt for the remainder of the current Korn Ferry Tour season once the college season ends.
