Streicher Named All-ACC For Third Time


Megan Streicher became the women’s golfer in University of North Carolina history to earn All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors at least three times.
 
The ACC announced its annual award recipients on Friday. Streicher was one of 15 players named to the All-ACC team.
 
The senior from Cape Town, South Africa, joins Marcy Newton (1997, 1999, 2000), Ashley Prange (2002, 2003, 2004) and four-time honoree Catherine O’Donnell (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012) as the only Tar Heels to earn All-ACC three or more times.
 
Streicher leads Carolina into next week’s NCAA regional, which the Tar Heels will host Monday through Wednesday (May 11-13) as the No. 2 seed at UNC Finley Golf Club.
 
She is enters the regional on pace to break her own single-season UNC scoring record. Streicher is averaging 70.83 strokes per round, more than half a stroke per round better than the previous UNC record, which she set in 2023-24.
 
In 24 rounds this year, Streicher has shot a combined 16 under par. She leads team with 18 par or better rounds (15 below par), including seven in the 60s. She has defeated 87% of the competition with four top-5 and six top-10 finishes.
 
She was second at Landfall, third in Hawai’i, fourth at the Chevron and fourth at Folds of Honor.
