Deacs Tied for Second After Round One in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.With sophomore Chloe Kovelesky going three-under-par to kick the week off, Wake Forest women’s golf finished its first round of three tied for second at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional in Tallahassee, Fla.

The Deacs are two strokes off the leader, and well inside the top-five team cut needed to advance to NCAA Championships.

Kovelesky continued her momentum from the ACC Championships as she finished three-under and tied for second place. The sophomore carded an under par back nine, highlighted by a hole-out on hole 17 for eagle. Recently named to the 2026 All-ACC Team, she leads the competition in par-four scoring, shooting par or better on all par-fours.

Graduate student Morgan Ketchum and senior Anne-Sterre den Dunnen followed behind at one under and T12. Den Dunnen recorded a bogey-free morning, totaling four birdies throughout the day. Ketchum meanwhile posted five birdies, the most of the Deacs today and second among the competition.

Freshman Cartoon Rujiranan secured a clean front nine and completed the day at two over in T32. Junior Macy Pate wrapped the first round in T42 and three strokes over par.
