SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. – The Virginia Tech women’s golf team concluded its 2025-2026 season on Wednesday by placing sixth at the Simpsonville Regional, hosted by the University of Louisville at the University of Louisville Golf Course (par 72, 7,192 yards).
The Hokies were making their sixth consecutive NCAA Regional appearance. Tech scored rounds of 286, 282, and 292 for an 860, but just missed advancing at 4-under par, five shots behind fifth place Ole Miss at 9-under. Auburn won the regional championship with a 17-under (286,273,288), six shots clear of the University of Houston. Arkansas (854), Iowa State and Ole Miss (855) rounded out the top-five, advancing to the championship.
Emily Mathews and Pearl Phoncharatkun led the Hokies, tying for 20th. Mathews had her fifth top-20 finish of the season at 1-under 215 (69, 70, 76). Phoncharatkun had her fourth top-20 finish of the season at 1-under 215 (72, 71, 72).
Auburn’s Anna Davis won the individual title with a 10-under 206 (70, 65, 71). Indiana’s Sheridan Clancy was the runner-up with a 9-under 207 (68, 67,72).
