Thomis Cards a 69, Louisville in 23rd Going Into Round 3


CARLSBAD, Calif. – The University of Louisville men’s golf team concluded the second round of the NCAA Championships at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in 23rd place with a team score of 14-over-par.
 
Warren Thomis shot a 3-under-par 69 to move up to a tie for 43rd, putting him even on the week. He led the Cardinals with six birdies this afternoon, including an impressive 50-foot putt for birdie on hole No. 18.
 
Easton Johnson’s bogey-free back nine propelled him to a 1-over-par round of 73. He is 3-over-par on the week in a tie for 77th.
 
Brady Smith, Andrew Tan, and Cooper Claycomb each shot rounds of 5-over-par 77 and are 5-over, 6-over, and 11-over, respectively.
 
Louisville will tee off for round three of stroke play tomorrow starting at 3:45 p.m. ET.
