Stanford, Calif. – Senior Charlie Crockett led the University of Missouri men’s golf team’s during day one of the NCAA Tournament Regional at Stanford, taking a 10th-place finish into Tuesday’s action.
Crockett posted a three-under 67 on the day behind seven birdies during the first 18 holes of action. After a run of three-straight bogeys put the senior over par through seven holes, Crockett quickly corrected course with three-straight birdies on the ninth, 10th and 11th. Overall, he finished four-under during the final 10 holes of play – finishing off his strong back nine with a birdie on 18 – as he sits 10th of 75 golfers.
Senior Jack Lundin was second on the team with an even-par 70, followed by Trevor Mierl (+3), Dagbjartur Sigurbrandsson (+6) and Virgilio Paz (+7).
As a team, the Tigers are tied for 10th of 14 schools with a six-over 286 on the par 70 course.
Day two of the three-day tournament begins tomorrow with the Tigers teeing off at 11:55 a.m. CT.
