NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – Illinois women’s golf finished the second round of the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational in third after carding a team total of 296 (+8).
Victoria Zheng moved into the top 10 after a 1-under 71, her first round under par of the season, to head into Tuesday’s final round in eighth. Zheng tallied two birdies, giving her four total in the tournament.
Lexanne Halama continued her steady play during the event, posting an even-par 72 to finish the day tied for ninth.
Brielle Mapanao is tied for 33rd after her second round 77 (+5), Yurang Li is tied for 39th after her round of 76 (+4) and Brielle Burns is tied for 51st after carding a 77 (+5).
Anna Ritter, competing individually, is tied for eighth after firing a round of 74 (+2).
TCU continues to hold the team lead at 7-over (583), while Houston’s Natalie Saint Germain leads individually at 5-under (139).
The Fighting Illini will be back in action in tomorrow, with the third and final round beginning with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. CT.
