Bobby Jones Links renewed its 21-year agreement with Cobblestone Golf Course in Acworth, Georgia, through 2034.
Cobblestone opened in 1993 and is one of the country’s most successful municipal course, hosting some 60,000 rounds annually.
“While it is not unusual for a governmental authority to build and operate a golf course, it is rare for them to build one of Cobblestone’s caliber,” said Steve Willy, a founding partner of Bobby Jones Links. “It is a remarkable design and great fun to play.”
The entire facility was renovated in 2010. The clubhouse was expanded and new practice areas were added in 2021.
The par-71 golf course was designed by Ken Dye and offers a challenging layout, with seven holes sitting along the edge of Lake Acworth.
Cobblestone also hosts junior camps, golf leagues and golf outings, as well as featuring a golf academy and a newly expanded restaurant.
Whitney Crouse, founding partner of Bobby Jones Links, said that the key to maintaining a thriving property is to hire the right people and give them access to the resources they wouldn’t have on their own.
“It’s our hands-on style and not a big box management company approach that’s the differentiator,” he said. “Cobblestone Golf Course is one of Cobb County’s most prized recreational assets, and with that comes the responsibility to ensure it always remains a spectacular experience for its golfers.”
